Dr. Luke established St. Luke’s School of Nursing and MPHW (F) Training Center in 1988 at Visakhapatnam. It was his desire to establish a College of Nursing which finally became a reality in January 2004,

Dr. Luke was a simple and humble man who had lived and worked for the sick and suffering. Dr. Luke strongly believed that the humanitarian service that he envisaged in his mind cannot be done singlehandedly. So he came back to India in 1978 with a vision derived from his experiences abroad and started the first institution in Andhra Pradesh in 1979 for training young and dedicated paramedical staff under the self-employment scheme.
Awards
In recognition of his services to society in general and the nursing profession in particular, he was honored with many awards. Noted among them are the Vijayasree (Hyderabad), Rajiv Ratna (New Delhi), and Glory of India Gold Medal (USA).
